A World Without God

w10.jpg

A world without God is deprived of spiritual values and realities that do not depend on human beings.
A world without God brings forth philosophies such as atheism, agnosticism, secular humanism and antitheism.
It is reflected in loose standards, rootlessness, dysfunctional families and self-destructive behaviors that manifest in immorality, addictions, violence and evil.
Teen promiscuity, teen pregnancies, teen abortions, teen sexually transmitted diseases and juvenile delinquency are out of control.
Why is all this is happening?
Secularism and godlessness has distorted what is good and wholesome.
The junk culture accepted in today's Western world can never create a happy home, a wholesome family or a responsible society.
*Atheism and godlessness creates “spiritually poor” societies.
*Evil ideologies cause the loss of wholesome principles that lead to the good society
*Worldly values of power, status, money, material things and sensual pleasures make the individual less spiritual.
When the Lord taught the Parable of the Sower, He said the seed that fell on the rock had “fallen away.”
Literally, the seed grew without a root. He likened it to the person who believes for a little while and then falls when temptation strikes.
(See Luke 8:13.)
The Fear of God reminds us that:
*All actions have repercussions
*We are accountable to Someone.
That Someone is God!
God's Laws of Life:
*Sets boundaries - it avoids excesses and eliminates all that is harmful.
*Guide us to right thinking and right action.
*Provide standards on which to base decisions that affect life.
Jesus Christ says, "This is the way to a meaningful, just and wholesome existence".
"I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

Secularism

A World Without God
Secularism, based on so-called, scientific and "rational thought" to alternative explanations of existential questions that ignore religious considerations.
Secularism creates:
1. Valueless life
When one abandons conscience - they abandon empathy and love for self-interest and gluttony.
Without spiritual values, choices and decisions may result in individuals becoming selfish, greedy and corrupt.
2. Dysfunctional society
Social cohesion is essential for creating a stable and peaceful society.
Lack of ethical considerations increases conflict and distrust.
3. Spiritual Orphans
Atheism and science destroys society's organizing principles through man-made ideologies.
Any individual who steps away from the boundaries of their God-given conscience is inviting calamity.
The loss of spiritual principles may lead to human beings becoming puppets to propaganda and false promises.
Isaiah 5:20 says, ”Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness: that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter.”

A World Without God -          Atheism

w12.jpg

Atheism is a belief system.
Secularism is a political doctrine.
An atheist denies the existence of God.
Their basic belief can be summed up as:
"there was nothing and nothing happened to nothing and then nothing magically exploded for no reason, creating everything magically rearranged itself for no reason whatsoever into self-replicating bits which then turned into dinosaurs".
For the atheist, there is "no hope" in God's Heavenly Kingdom because they believe that life reaches a dead-end.
"There are no atheists in foxholes" is an aphorism used to suggest that people will hope for, a Higher Power in times of fear or stress, such as during war.
An atheist could never have that sense of faith, piety and tranquility that inspires the imagination of being a part of Something Greater than one could ever imagine.
To say that man can exist without God is to say that a watch can exist without a watchmaker
(William Paley 1743 – 1805).

Existence of God

A World Without God
*We need peace of mind.
*We need courage and hope.
*We need guidance and direction.
*We need a light that illuminates our path.
Can we have real meaning and purpose without the existence of God?
If everything man-made has a creator why would we not think that there is a Creator behind the universe, nature and life?
When the rational mind can acknowledge the existence of a Divine God, they do not fall victim to false, secular alternatives.
Faith in God answers the questions of:
1. Where did I come from?
2. Why am I here?
3. What happens after I die?
When we can "see" beyond the material universe, we are spiritually inspired with a sense of awe and wonder.
Divine Salvation from our sins was made possible by Jesus Christ on the Cross.

Faith in God

A World Without God
Faith in God was the primary source of life's meaning in western societies that shaped the values people strived for and structured their lives.
Spiritual enlightenment provides the magical inspiration of faith in God and Jesus Christ.
It manifests in an ethical foundation that benefits the family, our community, and fellow human being.
Faith enables the individual to see beyond this world and to seek spiritual realities.
We go to church to hear the Voice of God and to acknowledge Jesus Christ in our lives.
We live by values that encompass all that is good, moral and wholesome.
We turn to God when we are conscious of sin or are depressed in spirit.
In a time of need through difficulties, ill health and suffering, God is our refuge, our strength and inspiration to find the light of hope and peace of mind.
This is the kind of faith the Apostles of our dear Lord, Jesus Christ were able to preach and change the world.
Recognizing God as the source of our lives imbues us with a moral responsibility rooted in humility, compassion and unconditional love.
Faith in God prospers the soul - Scripture gives us an incredible glimpse into God's Everlasting Majesty.
A society devoid of a connection to the Divine is headed for destruction by false ideals - the most dangerous being the ideals of a secular State that may create a totalitarian hell.

Christianity

A World Without God
Of the world's major religions, Christianity is the largest, based on the Life and Teachings of Jesus Christ.
Christianity is a supernatural belief based upon the Mysteries and Miracles of Jesus Christ and upon One Powerful and Merciful God Who Created the universe and the world in which we live.
It is the only great religion Whose Founder, Jesus Christ, is, in fact, the Son of God - its lifespan of more than 2,000 years exceeds any dynasty empire or state.
Christianity satisfy's the need for a direction, meaning and a reason to life that helps people to understand themselves in this world and the eternal world of God's Heavenly Kingdom.
It has connected humanity to God and Jesus Christ through religious rituals and ceremonies, moral codes and a way of life that brings us into harmony with the Divine - its central theme is that there is an Infinite Source that is transcendent of all things.
Its greatest treasure acts as a means of salvation for a sinful life and gives beauty through its religious rituals, religious ceremonies, Sacred Christian Texts, attending holy places of worship and reciting religious hymns or chants that connect us with God.
Jesus offered people deliverance from their sins when they repented and were baptized into His Church.
The Christian church is the House of God.
Jesus Christ is the Head of the Christian church.
We go to church to enjoy Christian fellowship, find inspiration and spiritual renewal.
With faith, we go to church to hear the Voice of God through Liturgy and the Sacraments and to find Jesus the Good Shepherd, Who leads His flock to greener pastures.
When we obey God's Word and walk in the Footsteps of Jesus Christ, we purify our souls.
Fortunate is the child "brought up" with the moral and ethical values of God's Laws of Life - they are blessed throughout life.
